Affinity Fraud:
A Special Concern for Churches

“Affinity fraud” refers to scams that target members of a specific demographic or members of identifiable groups, such as religious groups, ethnic communities, the elderly,or professional groups. The fraudsters who promote affinity scams frequently are—or pretend to be—members of the group.
